VIIT Pune: Admission Guide 2026-27

Admissions to the undergraduate and postgraduate engineering streams at Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), Pune are highly structured and completely regulated under state authorities. As an autonomous private institution permanently affiliated with SPPU, seat tracking follows a merit-driven protocol divided between state-wide online quotas and localized institute-level desks.

1. Structural Seat Allocation Brackets

The foundational intake for fresh 4-year regular B.Tech programs is broadly split across distinct distribution channels mapped under state rules:

• Maharashtra State Candidature Seats (~85%): Reserved strictly for domestic home-state applicants. Seat processing operates explicitly on the basis of MHT CET merit percentile scores.
• All India Quota Seats (~15%): Open uniformly to candidates nationwide. The primary preference index favors valid JEE Main positive scores over MHT CET performance metrics.
• Institutional / Management Quota Seats: A designated minor percentage of total sanctioned slots filled natively by the institute management based on inter-se merit lists for eligible standard applicants.

2. Course Eligibility Matrix & Gateways

Prospective students must satisfy defined entrance and 10+2 high school PCM percentage criteria to qualify for active enrollment blocks:

3. Step-by-Step Centralized Admission Process (CAP)

Regular state counseling follows a rigid timeline administered entirely by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra:

1. Online CAP Registration: Log onto the official portal (cetcell.mahacet.org) immediately following scorecard declarations to input personal credentials and exam ranks.
2. Scrutiny & Verification: Complete document e-scrutiny or report physically to designated Facilitation Centers (FC) to verify identity markers and secure certified application confirmation tokens.
3. Merit List Publication: The CET cell publishes provisional rankings, fields structural student grievances, and releases the final definitive State Merit Lists.
4. Option Form Entry: Access your portal locker during the choice-filling rounds. Input **VIIT Pune (DTE College Code: 6273)** alongside your target engineering streams in strict descending priority order.
5. Seat Allotment & Confirmation: Track provisional round outputs. Upon allocation, lock your preference ("Freeze" or "Float"), clear the nominal state seat acceptance levy online, and print your formal allotment letter.
6. Physical Onboarding: Present yourself at the VIIT Kondhwa campus block before the specified round cutoff time. Hand over original credentials, clear the college balance fee invoice, and secure your admission receipt.

4. Mandatory Document Portfolio

Candidates must submit one full file of original academic certifications paired with three sets of clean, self-attested copies during campus onboarding:

• Official DTE CAP Online Seat Allotment Order and Entrance Receipt.
• MHT CET or JEE Main official Score Card and Admit Transcript.
• Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) absolute Marksheets & Passing Records.
• School Leaving Certificate (LC) / Transfer Certificate (TC).
• Indian Nationality Certificate or Domicile Certificate of Maharashtra state.
• Caste Certificate, Caste Validity Certificate, and current Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) credentials (mandatory for reserved category allocations).
• Income Certificate issued by competent revenue authorities (if claiming TFWS allocations or state fee concessions).
• Aadhaar Card copy and recent color passport-size photographs.

Important Admissions Advisory: Due to competitive clustering in Pune tech colleges, computing branches like Computer Engineering and IT routinely lock cutoffs well above the 97–98 percentile mark for open category tracks. Ensure your option sheets are balanced with realistic backup streams before finalizing choice lists. For active schedule updates, monitor the Maharashtra State CET Cell portal.

VIIT Pune: Detailed Fee Structure 2026-27

Because Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), Pune is an autonomous private institution, its fee structures are strictly regulated and approved annually by the Shikshan Shulka Samiti (Fees Regulating Authority) of Maharashtra. The absolute commercial layout varies depending on the entry method (CAP round vs. Institute Level) and specific statutory reservation concessions.

1. Consolidated Annual Academic Fees (Open / General Category)

The baseline statutory program costs for fresh admissions under the Open/General merit category are structured across branches as follows:

* Note: For Institute-Level/Management Quota seats, the annual cost baseline skips standard concessions, typically scaling to approximately ₹4,18,000 to ₹5,37,000 per year based on branch demand metrics.

2. Category-Wise Fee Concessions (Maharashtra Domicile Only)

In compliance with State Common Entrance Test Cell directives, massive structural drop adjustments apply natively for domestic reserved groups entering via regular CAP rounds:

• OBC / EBC / EWS Category: Eligible candidates receive a 50% waiver on the primary tuition component, bringing down out-of-pocket costs to roughly ₹ 1,12,000 per year.
• VJ / NT / SBC Categories & TFWS Scheme: Candidates are completely exempt from 100% of base tuition overheads, paying only the dynamic development and university fees (~₹ 30,000 – ₹ 32,000 annually).
• SC / ST Category: Benefit from an absolute state social justice mandate, paying an ultimate token operational checkout rate of just ₹ 6,000 per year.

3. Mandatory University Overheads & Eligibility Fees

VIIT Pune: Scholarship & Financial Aid Guide 2026-27

Because Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), Pune is an autonomous private institute, its full open-category fees (~₹1.55 to ₹2.12 Lakhs annually) can place a substantial burden on families. To counter this, the Government of Maharashtra, central ministries, and corporate philanthropic trusts administer a robust financial tracking network. This ensures that meritorious and economically strained students receive substantial tuition fee concessions, waivers, or direct disbursements.

1. Maharashtra State Government Concessions (MahaDBT Portal)

The primary avenue for financial aid is the centralized **MahaDBT portal**. Students entering through the official state-level CAP rounds can unlock massive tuition reductions depending on their domicile and caste validation tags:

2. State Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS)

During the primary online choice-filling phase of MHT-CET counseling, a specialized, merit-driven layer is embedded across all technical specializations:

• The TFWS Allocation: Appended as separate high-cutoff choices (an extra 5% seats over the sanctioned batch intake). Open to all categories holding an annual parental income **below ₹8,000,000**.
• The Ultimate Relief: Selected candidates bypass regular branch tuition blocks, paying a flat annual token fee (~₹30,000 – ₹32,000) that covers only basic institutional development and university processing overheads.

3. National & Corporate CSR Fellowships

VIIT Pune actively hosts corporate placement and social outreach relationships, linking meritorious students with prominent private sector funding pipelines:

• Cummins Scholarship Program: A prestigious private engineering fellowship dedicated to supporting deserving girl students pursuing technical education. It covers complete baseline tuition costs along with a laptop allowance and corporate mentoring sessions.
• Persistent Foundation & Leela Poonawalla Grants: Prominent local IT foundations offering comprehensive monetary scholarships to high-performing female scholars tracking computational or circuit branches.
• Central Sector Minority Scholarship: Administered via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), providing a direct financial grant of Allot ₹25,000 up to ₹30,000 per annum to religious minority scholars matching national income baselines.

4. Continuous Retention Laws & Compliance

To ensure transparent distribution and maintain active status on funding registries, students must observe strict compliance protocols:

1. The Non-Clubbing Policy: Under strict statutory rules, a student cannot pull monetary benefits from more than one government source simultaneously. Combining a full state EBC waiver with a central minority scheme is legally blocked.
2. Academic Retention Benchmarks: Yearly renewal demands a clean pass sheet across subsequent semesters with zero active backlogs under autonomous evaluation guidelines, alongside a strict **75% mandatory attendance record**.

Application Step Note: Freshers seeking state portals must present authentic digital income validation papers (issued by an authorized revenue official via Form RD), student-owned bank transcripts link-verified with Aadhaar, and their baseline CAP allotment letters. All verification dossiers are formally verified on-site by designated college nodal authorities immediately following administrative onboarding.
