UVCE Bangalore: Admission Guide 2026-27

Admissions at the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bangalore are executed entirely on a merit basis through centralized government single-window channels. Following its upgrade into an independent State Autonomous Public University, UVCE retains a strict zero-management-quota policy, filling 100% of its sanctioned seats strictly through merit percentiles.

1. Primary Seat Allocation Pathways

The onboarding technical streams split into two distinct geographic unbundled categories managed via the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA):

• KEA Karnataka Merit Quota: The vast majority of standard undergraduate engineering and architecture seats are mapped exclusively for students holding valid Karnataka State Domicile. Seats are locked via KCET merit ranks.
• All India Quota (AIQ): A dedicated set of merit seats is explicitly allocated for non-Karnataka students nationwide. These entries bypass the state entrance loop and are assigned using pure national-level JEE Main metrics.

2. Course Eligibility Matrix & Gateways

3. Step-by-Step Single Window Counseling Sequence

To claim a valid seat at UVCE, applicants navigate the standard web-option infrastructure via KEA:

1. Registration & Exam: Apply, sit for, and achieve competitive rank cutoffs in the targeted entrance loops (KCET/JEE/PGCET).
2. Document Verification: Report to authorized KEA verification camps or upload files digitally to lock state category reservation tags (General, 2A, 3B, Rural, Kannada Medium, etc.).
3. Web Option Entry: Log onto the KEA portal (cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea). Select and lock University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) - Bangalore along with your chosen stream as Priority Number 1.
4. Mock & Final Allotment: Analyze tentative alignments using KEA's mock round output, refine choices if necessary, and download the definitive Round 1/2 Provisional Allotment Order.
5. Fee Settlement: Clear the specified government institutional fee online natively via KEA's payment gateway.
