SASTRA University: Admissions & Eligibility Standards

Admissions at SASTRA University are highly competitive and are processed transparently via a merit-based dual-stream system that strictly integrates national entrance ranks and 12th board performance.

Authorized Entrance Gateways & B.Tech Streams

• Stream 1 (70% Seats): Admissions are based on a combined normalized score of JEE Main and Class 12 board marks. The weightage is distributed as 25% for JEE Main scores and 75% for 10+2 marks.
• Stream 2 (30% Seats): Admissions are based entirely on the normalized aggregate marks achieved in the Class 12 qualifying board examinations.
• M.Tech Admissions: Preference is given to valid GATE scores. Non-GATE candidates are evaluated through institutional merit.
• MBA & Law Admissions: MBA intakes rely on CAT/XAT/CMAT scores followed by interviews. Integrated Law programs utilize CLAT scores alongside board exam merit.

Minimum Qualifying Academic Baselines

Admissions Disclaimer: Counseling methodologies, JEE Main normalization calculations, and exact percentage cutoffs fluctuate annually based on applicant density. The dual-stream methodology allows varying pathways, but all applicants must confirm their eligibility and specific board normalization factors against the active prospectus published by the SASTRA admission directorate.
