JDIET Yavatmal Admission 2026: Application Process, Eligibility & CAP Cutoffs

Admissions to the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) programs at the Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering and Technology (JDIET), Yavatmal are fully centralized and regulated. The selection infrastructure is governed by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra through the annual online Centralized Admission Process (CAP) framework.

For the 2026-2027 academic window, JDIET offers specialized entry paths under both the regular Maharashtra State Merit and its specific Hindi Linguistic Minority status. Below is a comprehensive blueprint detailing eligibility benchmarks, quota allocations, the step-by-step registration flow, and recent closing cutoff percentiles.

1. Core Eligibility Criteria

Prospective applicants looking to lock a seat at JDIET across any specialization must thoroughly satisfy the following state-mandated academic standards:

• HSC/Qualifying Exam: Must have passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) board examination from the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or any equivalent recognized national board.
• Subject Combinations & Minimum Marks: Physics and Mathematics must be taken as core compulsory subjects, alongside any one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or technical vocational streams. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate score of 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category, EWS, and PwD candidates belonging specifically to Maharashtra State).
• Entrance Parameters: Registration and validation of scorecards in either MHT-CET 2026 (Engineering stream) or JEE Main 2026 (Session 1 or 2) are mandatory.

2. Specialized Quotas & Seat Distribution Matrix

Being a private un-aided entity with approved minority status, JDIET distributes its structural intake blocks under distinct counseling categories:

• Linguistic Minority Quota (Hindi - 51% Seats): Over half of the total institutional capacity across all streams is reserved explicitly for candidates who trace their mother tongue to Hindi and hold a valid state domicile. These seats are also allocated seamlessly through the online CAP rounds based on merit scores.
• Maharashtra State (Cap Quota - 29% Seats): General open and category-specific seats reserved for home state candidates allocated completely based on MHT-CET scores.
• All India Quota (AI - 20% Seats): Open to candidates across any Indian state, primarily filtered through All India Ranks (AIR) generated via JEE Main percentiles.
• Supernumerary Allocations (TFWS / EWS): Features an additional 5% intake layer for the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) and a 10% slotting for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), presenting heavy tuition concessions for merit rankers.

3. Step-by-Step CAP Counseling Workflow

To secure a valid seat, candidates must execute the centralized admission workflow on the official State CET cell engine portal:

4. Reference Cutoff General Trends (MHT-CET)

Cutoff dynamics shift annually based on pool density and branch preferences. Below are the reference closing percentile benchmarks for General Open Home-State candidates (GOPENS) across primary specializations:

• Computer Science and Engineering (CSE): ~79.50 to 80.70 Percentile
• Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering: ~72.20 to 75.70 Percentile
• Electrical Engineering: ~57.80 to 60.50 Percentile
• Textile Engineering / Technology: ~48.60 to 54.30 Percentile
• Mechanical Engineering: ~46.50 to 48.80 Percentile
• Chemical Engineering: ~30.90 to 44.50 Percentile

5. Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry)

Diploma holders seeking lateral entry directly into the 3rd semester (Second Year) must actively participate in the dedicated DSE CAP rounds managed by the state. Allocation matrices are built completely out of the cumulative percentage marks scored inside your engineering diploma curriculum.

Disclaimer: All admission timelines, eligibility relaxations, and cutoff parameters closely map the regulatory data updated for the 2026 state enrollment cycle. Candidates must keep monitoring the centralized mahacet.org engine to track real-time operational change notices and spot round institutional counseling maps.
