• Mess Advance: Fixed between ₹ 30,000 and ₹ 36,000 / semester (Adjusted per monthly consumption sheets).
• Urban Cost of Living: New Delhi's metropolitan baseline pushes annual boarding overheads slightly higher relative to non-metro IITs.

Statutory Category Waivers

• SC / ST / PwD Bracket: Universal 100% full waiver of the core tuition fee (₹ 1,00,000 per semester is entirely voided) regardless of income.
• Income Below ₹ 1 Lakh: General/OBC-NCL students whose family income rests beneath ₹ 1,00,000 / year qualify for a 100% full tuition waiver.
• Income Between ₹ 1 Lakh - ₹ 5 Lakh: Eligible for a 2/3rd tuition remission, bringing semester outgo down to ₹ 33,333.

Institute Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarships

• Criteria Baseline: Geared towards General and OBC-NCL undergraduate students where gross familial income is lower than ₹ 5 Lakhs / year.
• MCM Benefits: Offers a complete 100% waiver of tuition fees alongside an auxiliary pocket allowance of ₹ 1,000 / month (duration of 10 months).
• Academic Gatekeeping: Awarding hinges on achieving a competitive minimum CGPA (often 6.0+) and carrying no disciplinary actions or active backlogs.
• Distribution Quota: Constitutionally guaranteed to cover up to 25% of the formally registered UG batch each cycle.

State, Federal & PG Aid Structures

• SC/ST Free Mess Provision: Qualifying SC/ST candidates receive exemptions from foundational mess boarding charges alongside pocket allowances.
• PMRF Implementation: Postgraduates and deep-tech researchers receive premier fellowships via the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship schema.
• DBT Integration: Centralized nodal integration via NSP (National Scholarship Portal) aligns with State Minority and DBT schemes.

JEE Advanced Rank Bandwidths (Open Category)

• Computer Science & Engineering: Most fiercely contested; safe opening margins lie around Rank 100, shutting swiftly near 115 - 130.
• Mathematics & Computing: Extreme demand profile pushing closures severely tight, between ranks 130 and 350.
• Electrical Engineering: JoSAA allotments typically exhaust completely within the 430 to 800 rank band.
• Mechanical & Core: Mechanical historically solidifies closing thresholds between 950 and 1,600. Civil scales to approximately 2,000 - 3,200.

Reserved Classifications (SC/ST/OBC)

• OBC-NCL Parameters: Demands hyper-competitive category ranks; CSE closes roughly near OBC Rank 90-110.
• SC & ST Matrix: Top-tier circuitry branches necessitate double-digit category ranks. Less competitive tracks stay viable into the 800-900 category rank range.
• Female Supernumerary: 20% distinct horizontal reservation applies, inflating closing limits for female scholars by roughly 400-600 ranks against gender-neutral equivalents.

Counseling Mechanics

• JoSAA Rounds: Proceeding exclusively across standard JoSAA centralized iterations. Intense lateral movement occurs near Round 3 and Round 4.
• Zero Spot-Round Risk: As a premier Tier-1 elite, IIT Delhi almost never conducts localized spot rounds; 100% of seats are confirmed via final central counseling arrays.
