The NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: Everything You Need to Know for June 21
Following the cancellation of the May 3rd examination due to widespread paper leak allegations, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is officially conducting the NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam on June 21, 2026. With over 22 lakh medical aspirants set to reappear, the NTA and the Central Government have overhauled the examination framework to ensure absolute transparency.
1. Exam Date & Timing
The re-exam will be conducted in a single shift in the traditional offline pen-and-paper (OMR) mode. Notice that the exam duration has been extended by 15 minutes.
- Exam Date: June 21, 2026 (Sunday)
- Exam Timing: 02:00 PM to 05:15 PM IST
- Mode of Exam: Pen and Paper mode (OMR-based)
2. Unprecedented Security Measures
To restore credibility and prevent any further setbacks, the NTA has implemented a rigorous 3-tier security system at all 551 examination centres in India and 14 cities abroad:
- Tier 1 (Outer Perimeter): Strict entry-gate screening by local law enforcement with complete document verification.
- Tier 2 (Biometric & Facial Recognition): Mandatory live facial recognition and biometric attendance at the entry to exam halls to eliminate impersonation.
- Tier 3 (In-Hall Real-Time Monitoring): High-definition CCTV cameras will stream live footage to a central control room.
Additionally, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has been roped in to securely transport the question papers to various locations across the country. All paper setters and translators have been placed under strict lockdown until the exam concludes.
3. Admit Cards & City Intimation Slips
The Exam City Intimation Slip is already live on the NTA website, allowing candidates to check their allotted exam cities. The official Admit Cards are expected to be released by June 14, 2026. You will need your Application Number and Date of Birth to log in to neet.nta.nic.in and download your documents.
4. Scribe Facility for PwD/PwBD Candidates
The NTA has opened a dedicated portal for eligible Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) who require a scribe. Eligible candidates must log in and submit their scribe details by June 12, 2026.
Final Tip for Aspirants: Stay focused and avoid believing any rumors circulating on social media regarding further leaks, as the NTA is actively monitoring and taking down false claims. Keep checking the official NTA website for your admit card!
